Skydio X10 Tour | FAA Beyond Partner Project | Wichita
The KDOT Division of Aviation in concert with the UAS Joint Task Force (JTF) invite you to a series of fly days across the state. These events are conducted by the Kansas UAS JTF and sponsored by Skydio to introduce rural communities to new technology as part of the FAA BEYOND Program.
Participants from State Agencies, Public Safety, Local Governments, and other invited stakeholders across Kansas will witness societal and economic benefits of UAS at each local event. You are invited to attend these demonstrations on April 25 (Topeka), April 26 (Wichita), and April 27 (Garden City). Participants will have opportunity to get hands-on flying experience and learn how innovative domestic technology like UAS are used to improve operations through efficiency, lower costs, enhanced safety, and creation of new capabilities.
Never flown a drone before? We prefer that, and now’s your chance!
Come fly with us and learn how drones:
- Help DOT Teams quickly inspect statewide infrastructure assets such as bridges, radio towers, stockpiles, roadways, railway, culverts, and more.
- Support first responders as a force multiplier by gaining immediate situational awareness in any high risk, emergency situation.
- Capture and reconstruct critical incidents, like crash scenes or natural disasters, for emergency response and post event reporting.
You’ll get to experience Skydio’s new Dock and Remote operations. See first-hand how state operators use this new platform to automate perimeter patrol, streamline inspection and awareness in remote environments, and deploy a drone as a first response.
Enjoy complimentary refreshments and food while having fun flying!
“We had folks with zero flight experience up inside bridge decks within a second flight.” -Ryan Marlow, UAS Program Manager, Alaska Department of Transportation
“Drones are playing a significant role assisting with police work while keeping our officers and the public safe. Just this month, we've seen drone deployments find an assault victim and thwart burglary suspects.” -Oklahoma City Police Department
